It's finally time to add LAN-organizer to DSRacks resume. After numerous debates, creative suggestions and boxes of tissues we decided to name this project, DSRack LAN. :-)
In the same creative style we have chosen a domain for hosting information for our event, the result was LAN.DSRack.com. Let the revolution begin.
We are starting out with a small preparation event with room for a maximum of 250 participants; this will guarantee a smooth event with happy participants, crew and partners. We'd rather start small and have it be a massive success, than start huge and have an equally huge failure on our hands
The limited amount of seats and the late annoncement of the event make it unsuitable for two main tournaments of 5on5. We do not wish to step on the long announced event HKLAN either. So we are starting out with a 5on5 CS:Source and 2on2 DOTA tournament, with respectively €3.333 and €1.333 in cash prizes together with hardware and servers from our sponsors. Depending on the number of signups for our DOTA tournament, up to €860 will be transferred to our CS:Source tournament and thereby making the total prize pool for CS:S €4.200. All cash prizes will be transferred to a desired bank account within 5 banking days after the event. Hardware prizes will be handed out to the winners at the end of the event.
Besides our 5on5 CS:S we also have 2on2 DOTA as a main tournament, in other words, its CS-Source or DOTA - you cannot play both. Our DOTA tournament is a cooperation with the Danish community Ganked.dk, where we run a 2on2 CDOM (Captains Draft, Only Mid) max. 30mins. BO3. Still with us? :-) There will be room for approximately 50 teams and the prizes will be depending on the signups. There will be a minimum of €466 in prizes with eight participating teams.
Very soon we will have more details on tournament structure, prize distribution, rules and everything we still need in our menu ;-). We finish this announcement with a series of factual information:
